The AEC-CELL Cellular Antenna Extension Cable is a genuine Define Instruments accessory and spare part for cellular-enabled IoT gateways such as the G3 IoT Gateway, Nimbus IoT Edge Gateway and Zen IoT Gateway.
Measuring 32.5cm, the low-loss coaxial lead terminates in a female connector that mates directly with a Define Instruments cellular antenna. This allows the antenna to be moved off the device and mounted on the outside of a control cabinet or enclosure — a common requirement where the gateway itself must be housed inside metal switchgear that would otherwise block or attenuate the cellular signal.
Relocating the antenna externally helps maintain reliable 4G/5G LTE connectivity for remote monitoring, telemetry and data-logging applications, particularly at sites with marginal signal strength. A male-connector variant, the AEC-WIFI, is available for Define Instruments Wi-Fi antennas.
