NATA-Accredited Temperature Calibration
Hinco Instruments operates a NATA-accredited temperature calibration laboratory in Canning Vale, Perth, accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 — the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. We have calibrated temperature instruments for Western Australian industry for 70 years and serve customers across Australia.
Our accreditation number is 21447, and it can be verified directly on the NATA register. Accreditation means our temperature measurements have been independently assessed for technical competence, traceability and measurement uncertainty. Through international mutual recognition arrangements, a NATA-endorsed certificate is accepted overseas as well as nationally.

Good to know
Single and multi-point
Digital instruments can be calibrated at one or two temperatures depending on how they are used. Loggers and probes are typically done at three points across the working range. Tell us where the instrument is used and we will advise.
Calibration intervals
Twelve months is the usual interval. Shorten it where the instrument is critical to product safety, used in harsh conditions, or has been subject to mechanical shock. Tell us your due dates and we will remind you.

Published on the NATA register. If you need to confirm a specific measurement is covered before sending an instrument, the scope is the document to check — and we are happy to walk through it with you.
How often should a thermometer be calibrated?
For most thermometers in regular use, every 12 months. Calibrate more often, every three to six months, when the thermometer checks a critical control point in food safety, is used at temperature extremes, or is relied on for medical or laboratory records.
Recalibrate straight away after a drop or knock, or if its readings start to disagree with a reference thermometer. New thermometers should be checked before they go into service.
Can I check a thermometer myself between calibrations?
Yes. An ice-point check is the simplest: a probe in a well-stirred mix of crushed ice and water should read 0 °C. It catches a thermometer that has drifted, but it is a check at one point, not a calibration. Only a laboratory calibration against traceable references gives you a certificate.
Do I need a NATA-endorsed certificate?
If an auditor, customer or regulator asks for one, yes. It is common in food, pharmaceutical and laboratory work. Otherwise a traceable calibration certificate is usually enough. If you are unsure, tell us who the certificate is for and we will advise.
