Anemometer Calibration

Hinco Instruments provides traceable calibration for vane, mechanical, thermal and small cup anemometers, across the range 0 to 10 m/s. We serve customers across Australia from our Perth, WA base.

Calibrated in our ISO 9001 laboratory in Canning Vale, with results traceable to national standards and backed by seventy years of instrumentation service in Western Australia. We calibrate the brands we sell, including Alnor, TSI, Kestrel and Senseca, and plenty we don’t.

What we calibrate

Four instrument types, calibrated across the airflow range you actually work in.

Vane anemometers

Rotating vane instruments used for HVAC balancing, duct and grille measurement.

Mechanical anemometers

Traditional mechanical instruments, still widely used in mine ventilation surveys.

Thermal anemometers

Hot-wire and thermal probe instruments, suited to low air velocities where a vane will not turn reliably.

Small cup anemometers

Handheld and small fixed cup instruments used for general wind speed measurement.

Our calibration range

We calibrate anemometers from 0 to 10 m/s. That covers the great majority of HVAC, ventilation and environmental work, and it is the range most handheld instruments are used in. If your instrument needs verifying above 10 m/s, tell us when you enquire and we will say so up front rather than after the fact.

Traceable calibration, and what that means

Anemometer calibration at Hinco is traceable calibration: the reference standards we measure against are themselves calibrated against national standards, and the chain is recorded on your certificate.

Good to know

Calibration intervals

Twelve months is the usual interval. Shorten it where an instrument lives on site, has been dropped, or is used for ventilation surveys that will be audited.

Tell us your due dates and we will remind you when instruments fall due, so calibration is scheduled rather than discovered during an audit.

Certificates and turnaround

Every calibration is issued with a certificate recording the as-found and as-left condition, the reference standards used and their traceability.

Where an instrument fails calibration, we will tell you what is wrong and what a repair would involve before doing the work.

Need it back fast? Priority calibration is available for an additional fee. Call us on 08 9455 6777 or contact us to book.

Buying as well as calibrating? We supply the instruments we calibrate. Browse the DwyerOmega, Kestrel and Alnor ranges of anemometers and air velocity meters. New instruments can be calibrated before they leave our Canning Vale lab.
