Electrical Test Equipment Calibration

Hinco Instruments provides traceable calibration for electrical test and measurement equipment — multimeters, clamp meters, insulation and multifunction testers, power analysers and the calibrators used to check them. We serve customers all throughout Western Australia.

Calibrated in our ISO 9001 laboratory in Canning Vale, with results traceable to national standards and backed by seventy years of instrumentation service in Western Australia. We calibrate the brands we sell, including Major Tech, HIOKI, Fluke and Kyoritsu, and plenty we don’t.

What we calibrate

Each instrument is checked across the ranges you actually use, not just at a single point.

Multimeters

Handheld and benchtop, across voltage, current and resistance ranges.

Clamp meters

Current measurement verified across the clamp’s range, including the low end where drift shows up first.

Portable appliance testers

PAT units checked so the pass and fail results they produce can be relied on.

Calibrators

The reference instruments everything else gets checked against, so they are the ones that matter most.

Insulation testers

Test voltage and resistance ranges verified — the readings safety cases get built on.

Multifunction testers

Each function checked in turn rather than the unit being passed as a whole.

Earth ground testers

Earth resistance readings verified against known reference values.

Process meters

Loop, voltage and sensor input functions used for process calibration work.

Power analysers

Voltage, current and power measurement verified for energy and quality surveys.

MicroOhm meters

Very low resistance measurement, where a small error is a large proportion of the reading.

If your instrument is not listed, ask us — the list is not exhaustive and we service all major makes and models.

Traceable calibration, and what that means

Electrical calibration at Hinco is traceable calibration: the reference standards we measure against are themselves calibrated against national standards, and the chain is recorded on your certificate.

Good to know

Calibration intervals

Twelve months is the usual interval for electrical test equipment. Shorten it where an instrument lives on site, has been dropped, or is about to be used on work that will be audited.

Tell us your due dates and we will remind you when instruments fall due, so calibration is scheduled rather than discovered during an audit.

Certificates and turnaround

Every calibration is issued with a certificate recording the as-found and as-left condition, the reference standards used and their traceability.

Where an instrument fails calibration, we will tell you what is wrong and what a repair would involve before doing the work.

Need it back fast? Priority calibration is available for an additional fee. Call us on 08 9455 6777 or contact us to book.

Buying as well as calibrating? We supply the instruments we calibrate. Browse our clamp meters and the Major Tech and HIOKI ranges of electrical test equipment. New instruments can be calibrated before they leave our Canning Vale lab.
