Euromag MUT1222 Electromagnetic Insertion Flow Meter Overview
The Euromag MUT1222, supplied by Hinco Instruments in Perth, Western Australia, is an insertion-type electromagnetic flow meter that measures liquid flow in medium and large pipes without interrupting the line. Installed through a 1″ ball valve using a hot-tap fitting, it is a cost-effective alternative to full-bore mag meters for water networks, district metering and flow surveys — with no moving parts, no pressure loss and virtually no maintenance.
Hot-Tap Installation on Live Pipelines
The MUT1222 probe is inserted through a standard 1″ zinc-plated brass ball valve, allowing installation and removal on pressurised, live pipelines without shutting down the supply. This makes it ideal for retrofitting flow measurement onto existing water mains, and for temporary flow surveys and leak-detection campaigns where cutting the pipe is not practical.
Wide Pipe-Size Coverage
Three probe sizes cover an exceptionally broad range of line sizes — Size S for DN50–DN600 (2″–24″), Size M for DN200–DN1600 (8″–64″) and Size L for DN450–DN2600 (18″–104″). The AISI 304 stainless-steel body with AISI 316L electrodes and a POM sensor head is protected by a two-component resin coating and carries an IP68 rating for continuous immersion to 1.5 m, suiting buried, pit and flooded-chamber installations.
Reliable, Bi-Directional Measurement
Each sensor is individually wet-calibrated on an ISO 17025 traceable test rig to an accuracy of ±2% ±2 mm/s over a 0–10 m/s velocity range, with bi-directional measurement as standard. Rated to 20 bar working pressure and a −40 to +80 °C fluid temperature range, and CE-marked to the LVD and EMC directives (a separate ATEX version is available), the MUT1222 delivers dependable network-wide flow data at a fraction of the cost and installation effort of full-bore meters.
