Where a multi-function calibrator is more than what is needed, the mAcal provides precisely the capability required for current loop work in a compact, lightweight instrument that is easy to carry on instrument calibration rounds.
The mAcal sources and measures 0–24 mA continuously with a resolution of 0.001 mA and accuracy of ±0.02% of reading ±0.002 mA — accurate enough for calibrating precision process transmitters to tight tolerances. The built-in 24 V DC loop power supply allows the transmitter under test to be powered directly from the mAcal, simplifying connection and eliminating the need for a separate loop supply. Quick-step keys for 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of range allow rapid verification of transmitter linearity at standard checkpoints without manual adjustment. Voltage measurement to 30 V DC provides additional loop diagnostics capability.
The AA battery power supply delivers up to 200 hours of operation between changes — far exceeding most rechargeable alternatives — making the mAcal exceptionally practical for continuous field use. The compact IP54-rated housing is built for daily instrument work, and an ATEX intrinsically safe option is available for use in hazardous classified areas.
