3M Dynatel 2250M-iD

The 3M Dynatel 2250M-iD combines a cable and pipe locator with an electronic marker locator in one instrument. It traces buried cables and metallic pipes using a transmitter signal, and also finds 3M electronic markers placed at key points such as bends, joints and valves.

With iD markers, the locator can read and write information stored in the marker, such as the asset type, owner and install date, so crews know exactly what is buried below. It is used by water, gas, power and telecommunications utilities and their contractors. See the Electronic Marker System for compatible markers.
