The TM-8812 from Omni is a handheld ultrasonic thickness tester for measuring material thickness from one side, from 1.2 to 225 mm. It works on metals such as steel, aluminium and copper, and on non-metallic materials such as plastics and glass, using the speed of sound in the material.
It is widely used to check wall thickness and corrosion loss on pipes, tanks, pressure vessels, ship hulls and structural steel where the back surface cannot be reached. A coupling gel and selectable material velocity give accurate readings. It is part of our machine monitoring and inspection range.
