The HWM Pressure Transient Logger is a specialised data logger for catching rapid pressure changes in water mains. Pressure transients from pumps, pressure reducing valves and fast-closing valves are a major cause of bursts, water loss and supply interruptions, but they often last only seconds, too fast for a conventional logger. This logger records up to 25 readings per second and stores up to 8 million readings.
It is portable, fully waterproof and submersible, with a maintenance-free 5-year battery and one input for an external pressure transducer. Data is analysed in Radlog, with Transient View software for sample-by-sample detail.
